For this meeting, please read the CCBE (Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe) Charter of Core Principles of the European Legal Profession and Code of Conduct for European Lawyers (Nov. 2008), which you can access via this link, the CCBE’s Resolution in Support of Cooperation among American and European Disciplinary Bodies (May 2009), the Florida Foreign Legal Consultancy Rule and, if you have time, the ABA’s Formal Opinion 08-451 Lawyer’s Obligations When Outsourcing Legal and Nonlegal Support Services (Aug 5, 2008).

September 23rd, 2009: Peter Lederer. No advance reading is required for this session. Peter Lederer set up the Zurich office of Baker & McKenzie. He was later the Senior Partner of Baker & McKenzie’s New York office. His practice has focused on complex international transactions. He is a member of the University of Miami Law School’s visiting committee.
